If you accidentally deleted the content of your post and saved it, don’t fret, WordPress records the content and title of your post and pages each time you click the update/publush button. WordPress keeps track of roughly the last 20 updates. You can access this data using the ‘Revisions’ feature.

1. Log into your WordPress admin.
2. Click on ‘Pages’ on the left hand side.
3. Click the page you want to revise/restore. It should say ‘Edit Page’ at the top of the page.
4. Click ‘Screen Options’ tab at the top of the web page.
5. Check the ‘Revisions’ check-box.
6. Scroll down the page and you can now see a list of your recent revisions in the ‘Revisions’ area.
7. Click on the revision date to view the page’s content at that time.
8. Highlight and copy the entire block of markup.
   
9. Click the back button on the browser to get back to the ‘Edit Page’ view.
10. Click on the ‘HTML’ tab and delete all the content in the content area. The content area is the field just below the title field.
11. Paste the markup block you copied earlier into the  content field and click the ‘Update’ button.

My first webinar with Google over Google Engage wasn’t a good one.

So I was invited via email, by Google, to a webinar hosted by Joe DeMike. Not only was this webinar going to be useful information about Google Engage, AdWords and AdWords Express, but anyone who attended would get $100 AdWords credit.

So I try to log into the seminar on time and this is the screen I watch for 15 minutes:

After I realized that I was  missing the seminar I decide to call the support number on the email invitation. Webex.com answers the phone and no progress is made. The seminar eventually starts with no sound.  We thought that maybe it was a Chrome issue so we tried to sign into the webinar again using IE and Firefox to no avail.

The seminar was over and it seemed I wasted an hour of my time. I’ve attended weminars before and usually there’s a recording for members to watch.

I looked through the 2 emails I received looking for anymore information, but there was nothing except the hosts name Joe DeMike. Why is there a host name if there is no way to contact him? I tried to stalk contact him on LinkedIn.com, but the profile didn’t allow emails.

Perhaps the hosts name was given simply as a false sense of personalization.

It was the worst seminar experience I’ve ever had.

My first experience trying to join a Google Webinar using WebEx.com.

If visitors are complaining that they can’t view your facebook fanpage while not logged into Facebook, follow the steps below to make it public.

1. Access your Facebook page or fan page.
2. Click the ‘Edite Page’ button at the top right of the screen.
3. Click the ‘Manage Permissions’ link on the left side of the screen.
4. Make sure that the ‘Page Visibility:’ checkbox is unchecked and that the ‘Country Restrictions’ field is left blank.
5. Make sure the ‘Age Restrictions:’ field is set to ‘Anyone (13+)’ or your page won’t be visible to Anyone logged out of Facebook.com. It is against Facebook policy to set your age restriction to 13+ if you have ‘morilized sexual content’ on your page.
6. If you made changed, click the ‘Save Changes’ button.

In certain situations, you might want your WordPress website to have a page/post that only someone with a password can access. Maybe you have customers you want to create personal pages for or confidential blog post you want to keep private.

WordPress offers a handy setting to password protect a page or post. In the steps below I will show you how to password protect a page, but you can use similar steps to password protect a post.

1. Log into your WordPress website admin.
2. Click on Pages on the right side of the screen.
3. Click the ‘Add New’ button to create a new page or click the page you want to password protect.
4. Click the ‘Edit’ link next to the ‘Visibility:’ setting in the ‘Publish’ area.
   
5. Options will appear. Check the ‘Password protected’ bullet option.
6. The ‘Password:’ field will appear, fill in your password.
7. Click the ‘OK’ button.
8. Click the ‘Publish’ button.

Now the content area for this page won’t be accessible to the visitor, and a password prompt will appear. If the visitor can enter in the correct password, the content will become visible.

To approve comments or delete comments made on your WordPress website.

So you’ve received an email from your WordPress website telling you that someone’s made a comment on one of your blog posts. By default comments aren’t visible by the public until you(the admin) approves them. Next you’ll want to delete the comment if it’s spam or approve it if it’s not.

1. Log into your WordPress website.
2. Click on the ‘Comments’ button on the left hand side of the screen.
3. Check the boxes next to the comments you want to approve and make public.
4. 
   Select ‘Approve’ from the ‘Bulk Actions’ drop down list to approve a comment and make it public. Select ‘Move to Trash’ from the ‘Bulk Actions’ drop down list to delete the comment.
5. Click the ‘Apply’ button.

You can view Google Analytics statistics for a specific date by:

1. Logging into your Google Analytics account.
2. Click the link to the website you want to view statistics on.
3. 
   
   Click on the ‘Date Range’ drop down options to change the date range or set if to a specific day.
4. Click the ‘Apply’ button.

You can check which version of WordPress you currently have installed by logging into your WordPress admin then clicking the ‘Dashboard’ tab on the left of the screen.

It’s essential to know what version of WordPress you’re using so that you know if it’s compatible with certain themes or plugins you might install.

You can easily update your outdated version of WordPress by clicking the update link that appears at the top of your admin screen.

Updating WordPress may render the current plugins and themes inoperable. It’s a good idea not to update your version of WordPress unless you create a backup of the current WordPress  posts, pages and database.

I’ve noticed that Etsy is growing in popularity these days and many WordPress users want to incorporate it into their current WordPress websites. I’ve listed some WordPress Etsy plugins below. These plugins have good ratings, but I haven’t actually tested them yet.

This plugin adds a sidebar widget that displays a grid of thumbnails linking to items in an etsy store. The user can select the number of rows and columns to display.
