I'm a web developer and a blogger. I spend 12 hours a day in front of two monitors, so I thought I'd give computer glasses a try to help minimize eye strain. I did my research and purchased the Weezer <\/a>model from Gunnar Optiks<\/a>. The web is filled with positive reviews about Gunnar Glasses, so I thought I'd put them to the test. Anyway, I purchased the glasses and after 2 weeks I'm ready to give my review.<\/p>\n
Gunnar Optiks Computer Glasses review<\/h3>\n
Gunnar Optiks claims<\/a> that their glasses:<\/p>\n
    \n
  1. Reduce excess blue light spectrum given off my computer monitors.<\/strong>The yellow tint does reduce blue light from the monitors. I can't tell if this is helping to reduce eye strain for me.<\/li>\n
  2. Magnify focus about 2 feet to easy eye focusing on monitors.<\/strong>The magnification exists, but it seems insignificant, in my opinion. If the magnification is actually helping to reduce eye straining I can\u2019t tell.<\/li>\n
  3. Increase monitor contrast.<\/strong>My monitors do have a slight blue-gray tint, and the Computer Glasses counter this. I do think the contrast increases slightly in the light of this color change, but is it enough to reduce eye strain? It seems insignificant to me.<\/li>\n
  4. Comfortable to wear.<\/strong>Gunner optiks made the part of the glasses that rests on the ear straighter than conventional glasses. This makes it easier to wear with ear phones on. The glasses are light and made well. When you handle the glasses, they feel high quality like any pair of Ray-Ban glasses, etc. I wasn't very interested in quality at first, but I soon realized it's hugely significant. Comfort is important when you're wearing a pair of glasses for 8-12 hours every day.\n
    I did notice that the two rubber padded parts of the glasses, that rests on my nose, were way too close together. Gunnar Optiks offered to adjust the glasses for me if I paid for shipping, but I decided to do it myself. (see below on how to adjust nose pads yourself)<\/li>\n
  5. Reduce eye fatigue.<\/strong>After using Gunnar Optiks computer glasses I have noticed a difference. My eyes still hurt like they do everyday, but they hurt less. Perhaps the combination of these seemingly insignificant perks add up to actually reduce eye fatigue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    My overall review of the Gunnar computer glasses is positive. I need all help I can get when it comes to computer eye fatigue, and I feel these glasses actually help on some level. This is my honest opinion. I recommend purchasing a pair to try for two weeks. If you don't notice an improvement, you can return the glasses within 30 days from the purchase date (Gunnar Optiks return policy<\/a>). After using the glasses for about 3 months I lost them. after 2 days my eyes were sore. I think my eyes got used to the slight magnification of the glasses and became fatigues adjusting back to normal.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
