How can I view deleted websites? Many times I've had customers come to me panicking because their domain expired while they were on vacation. Sometimes a customer will cancel their website hosting account and later decide they want the site back online again. Most all web hosting services don't keep your website files, since this file storage space costs money. If your website was deleted, and you want it back, don't give up just yet.

There are services online that archive website. You can search through the database of website and pick from different dates your website was archived. Find the latest date your website was archived and view it. If you know HTML, you can view the source files of your web pages, copy them, and reproduce the content on your new hosting account. If you don't have HMTL knowledge, or if your aged site uses PHP or a database driven language, you can have a web developer duplicate the site for a price. At least, you will be able to see your old website's content and rewrite the article and page this way. Below is a list of website archiving website. My favorite is Way Back Machine.

Website Archiving Services

  1. Wayback Machine
  2. WebCite
  3. Scrubtheweb.com

Archiving websites aren't perfect. I've noticed that they don't archive all websites, but this is the best way I know of to view deleted websites.
