Copying and pasting text content from one program or WYSIWYG to another is a good way to generate blank spaces, or double spaces, along with a lot of other formatting inconsistencies. In this tutorial, I will show you how to delete or remove double spaces from your text or code using Dreamweaver. There are other tutorials online, but they require you type in regular expressions (Regex). My method is even simpler and quicker.
Remove double spaces using Dreamweaver
- Open your document in Dreamweaver and open the 'code' view.
- Highlight a blank line break. Do this by placing the cursor at the end of a line of text, holding down the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the beginning of the next line of text and release.
- Hold down the 'CTRL' key and press the 'f' key to open up the 'Find and Replace' tool.
- Place the cursor in the 'Replace' field and press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard once.
- Click the 'Replace All' button.
All the double spaces should now be replaces with single spaces.
