It's easy to tell someone about a great Youtube channel called 'failblog', but trying to spell out 'timothydelaghetto2' takes a lot of effort and it's annoying. Below are some basic rules on how to create a good Youtube username.

1. User common words for your username.
2. Don't use your real name as a Youtube username. You may want to sell your Youtube channel one day and no Blake Smith with a channel called Jack johnson wouldn't work too well.
3. The shorter the username the better.
4. If the username is taken try attaching these common slang word extensions to the name: uber, zor, ster, ify, dom, tron, izzle to the word.
5. Putting 2 to 3 words together is fine especially if they relate to one another.
6. Some user replace letters with number 'leet' becomes 'l33t'. If you can get a short username using this tactic, it might be worth it otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
