A website visitor emails me with this question "I need a website for my small business; how much will it cost?'. I offer a website package called the Affordable Website Package that's is very cheap. It includes everything you need in a business website, including a logo(print version included), web hosting, website setup, email list, SEO and admin support. What the website package doesn't include, and what most website owners overlook is website marketing.
I'm honest with my customers, and it needs to be understood that owning a website doesn't equal success. About 80% of my website customer's biggest issue is marketing or advertising their website. Just because you have a website doesn't mean anyone will ever see it unless you put out effort to generate website traffic.
There are two 'tried and true' ways to market your website and build web traffic.
- AdWords - With AdWords, you can pay Google to advertise your website online for you but it's not cheap. For effective results you'd have to pay about $11/day.
- Blogging - Blogging is a great way to market your website. With keyword researched blog posts, you can earn the same level of website visitors as you can with AdWords.
Getting your website known will be the biggest hurdle for your small business website.
